Clara is a multi talented artist: she’s not only painting but also has her own design studio and loves to write books. We love the emotion she transmits through her fresh and colorful style. Please meet Clara Cabrera:
What gets you up in the morning?
Pizza for breakfast and coffee.
If you could be someone else, who would it be?
Vanilla Ninja in 2005. Their image encouraged me to believe that I could do anything I wanted to be and that no one could tell me otherwise just because I was a girl.
What are you proud about?
My three published novels. Specially for having the constancy despite being so young to sit and write everyday (almost every day) for at least one hour since I was 15 till I was 20 to make my dream come true.
What are you scared of?
Darkness. I can handle spiders, I was a girl scout!
How did you notice you have grown up?
Pop stars are younger than me now.
What’s on top of your bucket list?
Live in England, travel to Russia and go back to performing in a band.
What should no one ever know about you?
My painting style comes from a tantrum I had in one of my professor’s office because they wanted me to do a “JUST paint” project with no drawing. I failed miserably and went to cry to her office. She kindly suggested I took a marker and drew on top of the paint. Also, my high school homework was mostly left undone because I was writing my novels after class.
What do you do before you go to bed?
Argue about who turns the light off. The switch is on the other side of the room.
Humanity’s best invention?
The wheel. I don’t like walking.
What is beauty for you?
Beauty is something exciting and pleasant to the eye. I find beauty more often in landscapes and in fierce, brave girls. It comes from within. It needs to have content. Beauty without content has an expiration date as it stops exciting after the second time you look. If it doesn’t evolve and stays still it becomes boring.
What is the next travel destination and why?
Estonia at the beginning of October. I did my Erasmus year there in 2013/2014 and I’m taking a few days off to see my Estonian friends. And probably I will say hi to the teacher I had the tantrum with.
The biggest difference between men and women?
Men don’t have a week of excruciating pain once a month and don’t need to spend money accordingly.
The biggest problem of your generation?
The relation that ties success to social media and vice versa. Also the speed in everything.
Who is your favourite person in your life?
Me; the person I’ve stuck with the longest and about time I became my favourite one.
Which super powers do you have?
I have colour synaesthesia (true).
What is the back ground image of your phone?
My “Apple Pattern” design.
