Needless to say, we absolutely love Berlin. For its cultural vibe, its free spirit and artistic atmosphere. However, we sometimes enjoy taking a little break from it to explore some new places. Buckow is one of them: this charming, green and welcoming city located in the state of Brandenburg is surrounded by lakes and a nature reserve.
Once a year, the city organizes a special weekend long fest called the “Buckower Rosentage“. On this occasion the coordinators invited four of our Berlin musicians to play on their main stage. In addition to featuring musicians, the festival also offered food stands, activities for children and adults as well as a small open air market.
3 Acts, 3 Ambiances
Upon our arrival on Saturday we were immediatly seduced by the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of this lovely plae nestling between lakes and forests. As we tried some traditional German and Polish food, it was time for Ben Wuyts to get on stage and start playing a set of original songs and a few covers. His particular voice and Pop/Future Blues influences seduced the guests and set a perfect cozy and poetic mood.
An hour later it was Geraint John Jones‘ turn to play a mix of original songs inspired by British folk and chanson francaise as well as some covers of Elvis Presley and Simon and Garfunkel. His concert brought some romantic folk vibes to the place, making the audience happily ask for an encore.
At the end of the day, Phil and Olivier aka Matter Of Taste Inc. turned the stage into a groovy party, playing one funky song after each other and getting the audience to dance and sing along. Phil covered songs from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye. He was accompanied by Olivier’s unique voice and guitar skills.
We really enjoyed helping the organizers prepare this year’s line up by bringing along a couple of exceptional musicians. And of course, we were glad to be part of the fest and get a taste of the Buckow life. If you’re planning a festival and need some outstanding acts – contact us and let us surprise you.
