At Book a Street Artist, we want to make art universally accessible, no matter where you are in the world. The perks that come with this; We travel and explore new countries. This time we’re especially excited, because we’re going to the North Pole! Our two co-founders will accompany six of our artists to fly from Berlin to Bodø, Norway, from October 12th to October 15th, 2016.
From September to December, Bodø is hosting several events including exhibitions, concerts, festivals and many other activities for the “Bodø2016” festival celebrating the city’s 200th birthday. Let me introduce you to the artists we will bring to the North.
There’s no better way to celebrate a birthday than with a spectacular show. The duo JAGO & L-ION combines acrobatics with dance and will be walking through the city on stilts, entertaining passersby to promote “Bodø2016“.
Cris Neves is a Portuguese artist, bringing graffiti drawings and lettering from the street to women’s bodies. He will travel to Bodø with another artist assisting him and paint on five models.
For this exciting event, Bodø also needs an outstanding ambiance. This is why Mademoiselle Maurice is also joining us: her urban and indoor installations made of thousands of colourful origami shapes will bring a special atmosphere to the place.
Fuego Rojo is a duo of acrobats and fire dancers. They will be performing their fire show « Magic Spiral », accompanied by their own music compositions.
For those who never heard of Bodø before (we haven’t before they invited us): It’s a town in Norway and the capital of Nordland county. Located just north of the Arctic Circle, the region is for sure something special. Although the official 200th birthday date is on May 20, its inhabitants have decided to celebrate it during a couple of months and welcome artists from all around the world for this occasion. We’re very happy to be part of it.
If you’re curious about the festival and want to see the magic happen, keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram and blog: we’ll be there with the artists to support them, document this amazing experience and share it live with you.
